Is this covered by insurance?

Many insurances will pay for mental health therapy when the individual meets criteria for anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder and many others. They generally will not pay for this therapy if the only diagnosis is specific learning disability (dyslexia). Insurances companies do not pay for cost such as reports and curriculum  You can schedule a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your students needs and how to verify coverage with insurance companies.

Is this covered by Utah Fit for all scholarship or Child First (Carson Smith) Scholarships.

We are an approved vender for both scholarships for behavioral therapy.

Utah fit all- Pre-authorization is required for Utah Fits All  Scholarship. If student has prior IEP or diagnosis receiving pre-authorization for behavioral therapy is generally easy to again.

Child First Scholarship/Carson Smith pays for the assessment, behavioral and education therapy

Can you diagnose learning disabilities, anxiety or depression?

Yes! As a licensed clinical social worker I provide clinical diagnosis utilizing the DSM-5-TR criteria.

What is the difference between Clinical Behavioral Educational Therapy and Tutoring?

Clinical behavioral educational therapy refers to a therapeutic approach that combines elements of clinical psychology (behavioral interventions) with educational strategies to address learning challenges and behavioral issues in students, often focusing on identifying the underlying cognitive and emotional factors impacting academic performance and developing targeted interventions to improve both behavior and academic skills

How often and how long is therapy?

For most individuals thirty minutes a week with daily homework to be completed with parental support. For older individuals, individuals need multiple subject support session may be twice weekly or one hour long.

There is no one size fits all for learning. For some students, after a few months children and their parents will have the knowledge and skills to end CBET therapy and learn indpendelty. For other students needs might be greater and longer term therapy is needed.

In addition, we can provide assessments with recommendations without providing Cognitive Behavioral Educational Therapy.

Do you work with individuals with autism spectrum disorder?

* If you are seeking ABA therapy for you child please be aware that unlike other forms of therapy, most insurances companies require medical necessity for coverage of ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy. This requires a medical doctor (such as a pediatrician or psychiatrist) or psychologist to make the diagnosis and determination of medical necessity for ABA therapy. Many doctors will use an ADOS evaluation conducted by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Please contact your medical provider to ensure the testing I provide will be accepted as part of the medical providers determination of a medical diagnosis and medical necessity for ABA therapy.
